To implement the school's international development strategy, promote the development of students' international education, and encourage more students to participate in overseas study exchange programs, the 2023 Students' Overseas Study Exchange Program presentation was held on the afternoon of February 27 at the Modern Transportation Engineering Center. SURT invited Li Cong, Vice Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Xia Daiyun, Director of the Student Exchange Program of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Tan Yuanyuan, Admissions Director for China at UCSD， to explain the overseas study exchange program for students in detail. More than 30 students with enthusiasm and interest in overseas study and exchange attended the seminar, which was hosted by Professor Wang Lei, Vice Dean of SURT.
The lecture kicked off with a speech by Li Cong, Vice Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department. In his speech, he pointed out that through overseas study exchanges, students can broaden their international horizons, learn different curriculum knowledge, and experience diverse foreign cultures, which is very beneficial to their future study and work. The university has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' international ability and has provided certain financial support for students to participate in overseas study exchange programs. He pointed out that the overseas study exchange programs recommended to students this time are selected and high-quality programs that have signed cooperation agreements with our university. He hoped that students could actively participate in the overseas study exchange program. After graduation and returning to China, they can share their study and life experience abroad with other students, and help more students understand the overseas study exchange program.
Then, Xia Daiyun, International Cooperation and Exchange Department, introduced to the students the basic information, application, registration process, funding policy, and other contents of the 2023 overseas study exchange program of our university. Tan Yuanyuan, Admissions Director for China at UCSD, introduced the basic situation of UCSD to the students and made an introduction to the course arrangement, project cost, selection policy, and other aspects of the 2023 summer and autumn study exchange program.
The students had an active interaction with the teachers on issues related to overseas study and exchange. In order to help students learn more about overseas study exchange program information, the meeting also distributed to students the 2023 overseas study exchange program leaflets and project manuals.
The seminar provided the students with a wealth of overseas exchange and study information. The atmosphere was warm and was widely welcomed by the students. This lecture is one of the contents of the college's 2023 student overseas study project publicity work, aiming to expand the scale of students' overseas exchange, enrich students' international exchange channels, mobilize students' enthusiasm to participate in international cooperation and exchange, and fully promote the college's international cooperation and exchange work to a new level.
It is reported that in order to grasp the willingness of students to study overseas exchange, understand the needs of students, and better help students to study overseas exchange, the college organized an online questionnaire survey for all students. The results of the questionnaire survey of nearly 400 students show that more than a quarter of the students are willing to participate in overseas study exchange programs. In the future, the college will also carry out a series of publicity activities for students' overseas study programs.
