Recently, the 2021 (5th) International Symposium on Environmental Noise and Vibration Control Technology for Urban Rail Transit was held in Shanghai. It was jointly organised by SUES, Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd and Rail-stdaily Website, under the guidance of the National Environmental Protection Urban Noise and Vibration Control Technology Centre, and with special support of the Noise and Vibration Control Committee of the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry. Vice President WANG Yansong attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. More than 300 industry experts and scholars attended the event from Tongji University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Beijing Jiaotong University, China Academy of Railway Sciences, China Railway Design Group, Shanghai Shentong Metro Group, Guangzhou Metro Design & Research Institute and China Railway Shanghai Design Institute. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor SHENG Xiaozhen.
Vice President WANG warmly congratulated the successful convening of the international symposium, shared with the participating leaders and experts the unremitting efforts of SUES to build a first-class modern university of engineering applications, and introduced the research outcomes in the field of rail transit vibration and noise control. He stressed that high-quality development of vibration and noise reduction technology for urban rail transit requires interdisciplinary integration of environmental noise and vibration control technology, rail transit industry technology and intelligent control technology, among others. Efforts will be made to build a platform for exchange and dialogue among experts and scholars, and actively integrate into the “regional economy and help build “a science and technology innovation community in the context of accelerating the development of a science and technology innovation centre with global influence in Shanghai. He extended a cordial invitation to the participants, providing a stage for experts and scholars to exchange ideas, a showcase for technological products and a platform for academic seminars.
With the theme of Innovation Enhances Quality, and Design Changes Life, this year's event covers theoretical research and practical application of rail transit vibration and noise reduction, survey, design, construction, operation and maintenance, and discusses the latest research results and future development. Keynote presentations covered topics such as the 14th Five-Year Plan urban rail transit vibration and noise reduction requirements, the latest practice and research on metro vibration and noise reduction, metro noise and vibration monitoring and testing, metro operation and maintenance and metro-line wave wear damage management, metro-line vibration and noise reduction upgrade challenges and practices, metro vibration and noise reduction system, equipment, technology and product innovation.
